Venerable Lama Karma Samten 49th day of paranirvana

Tashi delek dear friends,

Sunday 30th June is the 49th day of Paranirvana for our precious Venerable Lama Karma Samten, who passed away on 10th May 2024. This special day marks the conclusion of the traditional Tibetan bereavement period.

Please join us at Karma Choeling on Sunday 30th June at 10am for a full day of prayers and practice for the wellbeing of our precious Guru and the happiness of all beings. We are fortunate that Venerable Pong Re Tulku Rinpoche will lead us for the morning recitation.

If you are unable to be with us for the day, listed below are the details of the programme so you can join us in spirit. You can also make a donation for flowers, butter lamps and fruit offerings, and an offering for Venerable Pong Re Rinpoche, to our bank account: 12-3209-0303196-00.
Please give your name and reference ‘49daypuja’. For overseas accounts, please use PayPal and enter the email: office@kagyu.org.nz on the official PayPal website.

From now on, we can continue with sincere and heartfelt daily practice for our precious Lama, according to what we can manage.

The New Zealand Karma Kagyu Trust and Sangha will now turn attention to the concluding instructions of the astrology; purchasing two statues and building a Stupa for precious Lama’s physical remains at Karma Choeling. Our efforts to fulfil these wishes and recommendations will begin in earnest now, and we will update you as we make progress towards their fruition.
